Technical Programs

Paper presentations: Technical sessions (oral and poster presentations) and special sessions are being scheduled, and more than 500 papers will be expected
Scope: All fields of powder metallurgy, ranging from basic science to applied technology, will be covered.

Outline

Participants wishing to make a presentation in the technical program are cordially invited to submit an abstract in English no later than 23 January 2024.
All submitted papers will be reviewed and allocated to Oral or Poster Sessions by the Technical Program Committee, based on author’s choices. The acceptance notification will be e-mailed to the authors by the end of February 2024.

Participants wishing to make a presentation in the technical program are cordially invited to submit an abstract in English no later than this deadline.

By the end of February 2024: Notification

All submitted papers will be reviewed and allocated to oral or poster sessions by the Technical Committee, based on authors' choices. The acceptance notification will be e-mailed to the authors.

Oral Sessions

20 minutes will be allocated to each paper including discussion time. (There is a possibility to change the presentation time due to the limits of the time schedule.) All presentations must be given in English and are limited to one speaker per presentation.

Poster Sessions

Posters created in English will be on display throughout the congress period. Authors will be provided specific time for one-on-one discussions.

*Papers should be on original and unpublished work covering the results of the latest research, innovations or improvements in powder metallurgy processing or products. Commercialism in abstracts, manuscripts, visuals, oral/poster presentations will not be permitted.

Only via on-line. Neither fax nor e-mail submissions will be accepted.

How to submit an abstract

  1. The abstract should be written in English and required to have the following structure;
    • Title
    • List of authors (first name, middle initial, and last name).
    • Affiliations and countries; department/institution of all authors. Numbers should be used to identify which author is affiliated with which institution.
    • Abstract (100-150 words in length / No figures, graphs or tables)
      Please note that abstract must not emphasize product names after the first mention of a trade named product.
    • Keywords: at least one keyword, up to three.
  2. The abstract shall be submitted via the on-line form linked from the button at the bottom of this page.
  3. Fill in the columns required on the abstract submission form including the corresponding author’s information. The corresponding author will receive all correspondence concerning the submission and is responsible for informing the other authors of the status of submission. 
  4. Select the presentation type; oral, poster or either. However Technical Program Committee reserves the right to reassign presentation as they deem appropriate.
  5. Choose up to two topics which best express the contents of the abstract.
  6. If you wish to apply for the award, please select 'yes' in the application field. Refer to the column below for more details.
  7. Confirmation of receipt of abstract with the reference number will be e-mailed to the corresponding author. The authors can revise or withdraw their abstracts via on-line by themselves until the deadline.
  8. Authors of selected abstracts must submit their manuscript by 30 June. See the "Congress Proceedings" section below for details.

Congress offers Oral Presentation Awards and Best Poster Awards to young presenters under 40 years old.
Please select 'Yes' at abstract submission page if you apply award.

Congress Proceedings

All papers of Oral / Poster Sessions will be published in the Congress Proceedings. Guidelines for the preparation of manuscripts will be notified to authors with their acceptance letters by the end of February 2024.
The deadline for the manuscript will be 30 June 2024.

The proceedings will be published after the Congress. The presenting author must complete the delegate registration and payment by 2 August 2024.

All invited and contributed papers will be peer-reviewed by the Technical Committee.
At first, for all participants, the proceedings will be released on WORLD PM2024 website. After that all papers will be released on the online journal of JJSPM (Journal of the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy) which has been selected the Scopus. This online Journal is the open access under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) (Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivatives) License (CC License). The authors must agree to be granted the CC license. The APC (Article Processing Charge) of the online journal of JJSPM is included the registration fee.
However, not all papers published in the proceedings of WORLD PM2024 will be published in the JJSPM online journal due to the judgment of the JSPM publication editorial board.

Participation

All costs related with congress participation, including travel, hotel, and meal expenses, are the responsibility of the individual participant/speaker and not of the congress organizers. Reduced speaker registration rates is available for participating speakers (not for co-authors).

Online registration will be available around April 2024 with following discounted fee for presenters.
